Classroom Information

August 19, 2021

Dear Parents and Students,

I hope that you and your family had a safe summer break.

I am very excited to be returning to Selman Elementary School for my 18th year teaching Special Education.  As your ECSE teacher and case manager this year, I will do my best to provide your child with an exciting learning experience.  I am pleased that Gail Brown and Patty Paredes will return as our para-professionals as well.  We are anxious to begin this school year and we look forward to seeing all of you.  We will be practicing safety protocol as necessary in our classroom. Frequent hand sanitizing and hand washing will be a part of our day routine.  Face masks will be optional for our students and staff as school begins.  You will be informed of any changes as they occur.

Please keep informed of Sealy ISD safety protocol and important notices by checking our web site at

Many fun filled engaging learning adventures are ahead!!!

I will be sending home a communication log which I would like for you to read and sign daily. You can make notes to me on the log as well.

Please see the attached supply list, and classroom forms to be completed.  Feel free to let me know if you have any questions regarding any of this material.

If you have any other questions or concerns throughout the school year, please do not hesitate to call me. You can reach me by calling Selman Elementary School at 979-885-6659.  Or you may call me on my cell number which is 832-606-1635.

It is truly a privilege to have your child in my class.

Sincere Regards,

Melissa L. Ford, Teacher/Case Manager
